The HVAC/Controls technicians provide support for the sophisticated systems in our campus buildings. They are also our "comfort" shop - responding to hot/cold calls and doing their best to keep our space within campus standards. The refrigeration technicians support campus research and education through the maintenance, installation and repair of all equipment containing refrigerant. Equipment includes environmental growth chambers, walk-in coolers and freezers, comfort and laboratory air conditioning, computer/server rooms cooling, clean rooms, and all refrigeration units such as ice machines and specialized research equipment. The HVAC Shop also prepares estimates and provides heat load calculations for in-house renovation projects.

  • Maintain, repair & install Direct Digital and Pneumatic HVAC Control Systems

  • Maintain all facets of campus refrigeration systems, including human comfort & specialized research equipment

  • Prepare estimates and provide heat load calculations for in-house renovation projects, i.e. chill water, fan coil installation, sizing VAV terminal units, all facets of system design, including residential rooftop package refrigeration units, computer/server room systems and research related walk-in freezers and environmental chambers
